Click the jet! I Fantasy Raced a few years on Nascar's site and another one and it was fun but each game had definate drawbacks. One game you bid for 24 hrs at the start of the season for 4 drivers and you're basically stuck for the season with who you get. Another one was better. You had a salary cap and picked each week. Depending on how your 5 picks did, you're salary cap would go up or down. So did the value of the drivers. The problem was, once you got behind it wasn't fun anymore. Your cap would drop and the good drivers became outrageous. You got stuck picking from the "not hot" drivers. So I decided to code my own game.
I had interest from a few friends that if I built it, they would come. So I did. I came up with this game based on a salary cap. But everyone has the same money each week and can pick the same as anyone else. It's been very competitive. The driver's prices are based on their points positions. The cap keeps you from being able to pick 3 safe picks every week like 1st 2nd 3rd in points. They're at the top of the points because they consistently run well. That's too easy. Picking 2 of the top drivers eats up a good bit of your money. You have to have 3 drivers within the cap. There are a few ties but the two tiebreakers usually take care of it, a 4th driver is the first tiebreaker and guess the number of cars on the lead lap as another tiebreaker. It's not as complicated as it sounds. I show real stats of the drivers per track to help with picking. You can take notes after a race. It's not always the fastest that actually wins. I've put a lot of time into it. I think it's pretty cool, if I say so myself.
This is our 9th season and it's grown every year. It's a friendly game with some of my friends and their friends. We had 32 players last year.
